Exceptional care has been put into the weaving of this item, which is of high quality throughout. Although this style of object is well known, its precise function has never been securely established. One idea now in favor is that its directional quality, with the broad chevrons all appearing to point in the same direction, could indicate that it was intended for communal prayer.
